Hi Igor!
(and Hi Good Guy! and Hi Cinelerra CV!)
(decided to write to Good Guy, as I have both versions, see below,
apparently without stepping on each others toes, installed in two
similar proc, same MBO, boxes, and then I also decided the List should
know too)
Igor, do give me permission upfront (note at proofreading, I took the
permission, I hope you don't mind), to post this in my copies of Lurker
archives, like I posted my testing of Cinelerra 5.1, pls.! [***]
( see:

sorry for the fuss, this message evolved as I wrote it...

First time that I see it!
It is not in the:
https://cinelerra-cv.org/docs/cinelerra_cv_manual_en.html
But I only see it in my main repo Cinelerra 2.3 from current git!
I'm afraid to even touch the Cinelerra 5.1 from goodguy's repo because
it's working a 30min video, but very slowly... in another box
(
similar
hardware just six cores as this one with the 2.3 git Cinelerra (main
repo):

and another 3 cores here, less powerful core but 6 cores there...
Imagine how slow!
)...
And so I can't see if Cinelerra 5.1 has blue bananas effect... but I
expect it does.
I installed also Cinelerra from the main git repo, as I couldn't get motion
stabilization effect to work right in Cinelerra 5.1, so far...
And Cinelerra 5.1, here, is still working slowly, as far as I have so far tried,
mostly as slow as the Gentoo old, from 2014, Cinelerra...
I haven't practiced the blue banana plugin yet. Wouldn't even know how
to use it yet. I did look it up in Cinelerra 2.3 git install.
I'm really most interested in the motion plugin, or should I call it
motion stabilization effect, because I was able to stabilize the videos
of my Samsung Galaxy SII Google phone, a
spyware-on-buyers-like-all-google gadget (but the last words are a
digression of course, sorry!)...
With the Gentoo 2014 old Cinelerra I used to be able to do a good job
stabilizing motion almost just the way I wanted! I can make viewable
videos out of that phone camera footage!

No I couldn't currently help with blue bananas. I wish I could...
The two versions are working on my grsecurity-hardened kernel, but
solution wasn't optimal at all.
At this point I decided to post to the list, and attached the asterisks
near the top, and wrote the note below. (And then, as this message of
mine evolved, I decided to cheat, in the sense that I'll try to get this
message appear in the "Building in Gentoo" thread, right after:
http://lists.cinelerra-cv.org/pipermail/cinelerra/2016q2/004729.html
in the thread:
http://lists.cinelerra-cv.org/pipermail/cinelerra/2016q2/thread.html#4729
if I make it ;-) !
---
[***] Actually I'll post this reply to the Cinelerra-CV list. It is
good news both that:
1) goodguy repo Cinelerra 5.1 and main repo Cinelerra 2.3 from git can
coexist together (as it appears to me)
2) they install (but solution not optimal, not happy with it!) in
grsecurity-hardened kernel system, id est, only if:
mprotect
is disabled and the kernel recompiled. And the install instructions are
either on Cinelerra-CV or linked from there, God willing... They can
already be figured out from what I posted and linked in various places,
so far. But I'll try and summarize it all, if I get the strentgh and the
time to do it, and if someone else doesn't do it somewhere in the
meantime.
Regards!
